Community Control Over Police Surveillance (CCOPS)

While Medford Police Department claims it does not use much surveillance technology at this point, use of surveillance technology is growing. It is important for Medford to be ahead of its use and not wait until we have a problem. This campaign aims to have city council pass a CCOPS ordinance that requires public approval of police use of surveillance technology. A model bill from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) can be found here.

This tax reform campaign proposes a social insurance that would provide funds to cover the cost of living. It would also update the tax structure so small businesses would be paying more than big business, as well as stop big business from getting tax breaks every year at the expense of the worker
