Hello friends and neighbors,

Despite the victory of 10 ORM-endorsed progressive candidates on Election Day last month, the race isn’t over yet

The Medford Elections Commission announced that there will be a RECOUNT for the City Council on Saturday, December 9th and Sunday, December 10th, 2023We need dozens of volunteers to help monitor this hand recount and ensure that every vote is counted and the election result is confirmed.

Candidates Melanie Tringali and John Petrella filed the petitions, and they received 784 and 1700 fewer votes than 7th-place winner Matt Leming, respectively.

The 2023 ORM-endorsed candidates are calling on Medford community members to assist in monitoring the recount on the 9th and the 10th starting at 9am.

Sign up for shifts and time preferences, and we will follow up with further information about the exact times of shifts needed, training materials, and training options before the recount begins. Please complete this form by Thursday, December 7th.

While any candidate has a legal right to petition for a recount, we need you to help us preserve the integrity of this process. This recount is unlikely to change the results of the election, but it is vital for us to ensure that the results are accurate, as the results of the recount will be the final results of the election.

In Solidarity,
2023 ORM-endorsed candidates & the Our Revolution Medford Electoral Working Group
